Brad Sprague is a Managing Director with the Analytical Services Division of
Argus and has held that position since Fall of 2006. He joined Argus because he
saw a need for the services that Argus is providing to its clients on the “back
end” of transactions. He has been involved on the front end of many economic
development transactions and he feels that Argus provides him with a platform
to be involved in projects from their inception to completion.
Mr. Sprague is also founder and President of PRISM Municipal Advisors, an Ohio
based advisory firm specializing in economic development finance and general
municipal debt advisory services. The firm commenced operations in May of 2001
(under the name PRISM Financial Solutions).
Mr. Sprague assists his clients in accessing the capital markets through both
competitive and negotiated bond sales. The firm is consistently ranked as one
of the top four financial advisory firms in the State.
Prior to forming PRISM, Mr. Sprague spent 18 years as an investment banker
specializing in the underwriting of tax-exempt bonds. From 1990 until forming
PRISM, Mr. Sprague managed the Columbus public finance operation of A.G.
Edwards & Sons, Inc. During his tenure with that firm he served as senior
banker on bond issues for some of the more prominent issuers in Ohio, including
the City of Columbus, Franklin County and numerous State of Ohio issuing
authorities including the Ohio Building Authority and the Treasurer of State.
He also served as financial advisor to the City of Cincinnati while at A.G.
Edwards.
During his last several years at A.G. Edwards, Mr. Sprague was deeply involved
in some of the more high profile economic development projects in central Ohio
including the Polaris and Easton tax increment financings.
Mr. Sprague began his career in the public sector where he held a variety of
positions with the City of Columbus including Budget Director and Deputy
Finance Director. He holds a Bachelors degree from Miami University and a
Master of Public Administration degree from The Ohio State University. He is a
member of the Ohio GFOA and has previously served on that organization’s Board
of Directors.
